Penrith Stadium Redevelopment

Penrith Stadium Redevelopment: Supporting Growth, Preserving Legacy

Home / Community / Penrith Stadium Redevelopment: Supporting Growth, Preserving Legacy

The NSW Government is investing $309 million to redevelop Penrith Stadium – an upgrade designed to support the growing population of Western Sydney and enhance the event-day experience for all visitors.

The proposed design reflects input from more than 3,000 fans, families, and community members since 2022. The result is a family-friendly venue that honours the stadium’s legacy while meeting the needs of a dynamic and growing community.

The redevelopment aims to:

  • Create a modern, accessible stadium for Penrith’s community, athletes, and performers
  • Increase year-round use of the precinct through shared facilities and flexible spaces
  • Support the growth of sport and entertainment in the region
  • Deliver an outstanding experience for visitors attending events, concerts, and conferences

MGP’s Role – Sydney Water & Hydraulic Design

MGP was engaged to undertake the Sydney Water design, approval process, and site inspections associated with the redevelopment. A critical aspect of our involvement was the design, and managing, of the relocation of twin DN500 rising mains along with a gravity sewer— these major water infrastructure assets traversed the site.

Along with the design, MGP worked with the constructors on a detailed construction methodology and sequencing plan, ensuring no impact to service continuity or asset integrity during the works. Our flow isolation flow management (FIFM) onsite ensured a safe connection from old to new assets.

Our Hydraulic team are proud to be delivering the Workshop drawings for the redevelopment of Western and Eastern stands, as well as supporting infrastructure across the broader stadium precinct.

Our hydraulic documentation supports all major areas of the redevelopment, including:

  • Plumbing and drainage for player and public amenities
  • Trade waste and water services for food and beverage areas
  • Coordination with site-wide infrastructure and services
  • Compliance with building codes and water-saving standards

By working closely with the broader project team — including builders, consultants, and architects — we’re ensuring the hydraulic systems are seamlessly integrated with the stadium’s structural and functional design.

A Future-Ready Venue

This upgrade will bring Penrith Stadium in line with modern expectations for accessibility, sustainability, and functionality. We’re proud to support a project that not only enhances game-day experiences but also benefits the wider Penrith community for years to come.
