The Sydney Water team at MGP have been busy working on several community projects, including Civic Park in Bankstown, Perry Park in Alexandria and the GreenWay for Inner West Council.

The GreenWay is an environmental and active travel (non-motorised) corridor linking the Cooks River at Earlwood with the Parramatta River at Iron Cove. Featuring bike paths, footpaths, cultural and historical sites, cafes, bush care sites and a range of parks, playgrounds and sporting facilities. MGP are currently involved with the design of Sydney Water infrastructure and approval process, to ensure the new corridor building works have no impact on existing Sydney Water infrastructure and improve Sydney Water services to new and existing facilities on the corridor.

MGP are currently involved with the design of Sydney Water infrastructure, project management, and approval process, to ensure the new corridor building works have no impact on existing Sydney Water infrastructure and improve Sydney Water services to new and existing facilities on the corridor.

Project included multiple infrastructure designs and six (6) Out of Scope Building Plan Approvals (specialised approval of non-standard assets).

With the continued growth in Sydney’s West, several projects are currently being fast
tracked to support the growing community.

One such project is the new Marsden Park and Melonba Education Campus. The new
school will include flexible learning spaces for approximately 2,000 students, specialist
classrooms for science, wood and metal workshops, and performing arts, learning spaces
for specialist support classes, a library, canteen and administration facilities, a multi-purpose
hall for sports and performance, along with sports and recreation facilities and landscaping.

The team at MGP are currently completing the hydraulic and fire design services for the Education
Campus, working closely with McPherson Plumbing, NBRS Architects and Richard Crookes
Construction. 

With a deadline of Term 1 2024 our team is full steam ahead on the timely delivery.

The Lands Department building was built by the NSW colonial government in the late 19th century. It was designed by government architect James Barnet in the Renaissance Revival style popular at the time. It has been continuously occupied by the Lands Department, in its various forms, since being opened in 1892. Its last occupant was the Department of Planning and Infrastructure.

In September 2015 the NSW Government announced that the Lands Department Building, and the Education Department Building (The Sandstone Precinct), will both be redeveloped as a luxury hotel and retail destination.

The project involves the adaptive reuse of the state-significant heritage-listed buildings located on Bridge Street in Sydney.

The MGP Sydney Water team were involved in the earlier stages of the redevelopment, including locating Sydney Water assets and the Out of Scope Building Plan Approval. Our team is currently working with Built and Sydney Water to ensure the proposed development and new basement tunnel are compliant.

Our hydraulic team have recently been engaged to complete the design of the hydraulic and fire services. Working closely with Built, JRK Plumbers and Hassell Architects to ensure we provide effective, sustainable, and efficient design solutions, whilst ensuring the conservation of this heritage building, an iconic Sydney landmark.
